Trill Playa - Video Drop and Album Coming Soon

Making a name for themselves in the Athens and Atlanta scenes as part of the hip hop collectives BYV and The YOD, artists BYV_Trubb and Blesstheplaya have a new joint album on the way, Trill Playa. If you’ve been to a show featuring any of these names, there’s a big chance you caught them “ridin’ dirty, pull up clean.” The raw rebel anthem vibes coming off these new tracks should also be no surprise. It’s a collaboration with a lot of impact (and bass).

Coming in hot from a weekend of birthday celebrations for both artists, the video for their second single “Thank God” dropped Friday, October 2nd. BYV_Trubb drives the chorus and first verse with Blesstheplaya’s versatile vibes following up. Many long-standing BYV fans might note the growth of BYV_Trubb’s line, “I thank God I ain’t stuck in my ways.”

The first single off Trill Playa, “I CANT BREATHE,” dropped a little over a month ago with heavy protest imagery and Black Lives Matter support. The video works as a powerful virtual protest standing in solidarity with the captured footage of in-person protests happening in Athens. Scenes of public protests downtown, more personal protests at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, and clips of MLK Jr. himself are sewn together meaningfully for a powerful backdrop to this track.

Trill Playa will be released on all platforms Thursday, October 15th. There’s a total of 18 tracks including the two singles featured in the released videos, so there’s plenty of material to keep you entertained while we wait to watch these artists perform in person again. Be sure to follow BYV_Trubb and Blesstheplaya on Instagram for updates and content clips.
