Eli Eternal Does Numbers With "Fundamentals"

When speaking to Athens native Eli Eternal about his music, two things are clear: He cares about spreading a positive message in the community, and he cares about taking the time to do things the right way. That’s why it’s taken the rapper many years to debut his first official single, but the reception since the release of “Fundamentals” on Mar. 31 has proven to be more than worth it.

Eli Eternal released “Fundamentals” as an introduction to the world ahead of the upcoming EP Real Deal: Introduction. Just as the title suggests, it represents starting at the bottom and mastering the skills needed to make it to the top. Within the first week, the single amassed nearly 10k streams across platforms. Now, at just over two weeks, the numbers have exceeded 20k from a total of 3.6k listeners.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling that can’t fully be expressed in words. It’s a feel that we all as artists who are up and coming strive to feel—the feeling of finally accomplishing something, going through the struggles, the ups and downs, the start all overs to finally be here at this moment is a major blessing to receive coming from a small city like Athens,” said Eli Eternal. “I hope it’s motivation that I’m no different than anyone else striving and trying. If I can achieve it, so can you.”

Eli Eternal wants listeners to take away a feeling of confidence and a stronger belief in self with this single. Real Deal: Introduction has been in the works since 2020, and the artist has carefully constructed every detail piece by piece to represent a classic hip hop feel in a modern world for people dealing with universal problems. You can hear and see the impact of one of his greatest inspirations, 2Pac.

“All you need is self belief and God. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what’s your situation—you can achieve your goals,” said Eli Eternal.

Coming soon, Eli Eternal will be releasing a music video for “Fundamentals” just ahead of summer. Be on the lookout for more music drops until the arrival of the full EP. Follow Eli Eternal on Instagram for updates.
