Lil Kell Releases Album "#NotFaErrybody"

After a steady stream of releases since 2017, Athens artist Lil Kell released his latest album, #NotFaErrybody, last Friday on all platforms. Despite the title, this work mixes styles and energy in a way that has a vibe for every listener.

“This project just shows my versatility for making different genres of music and creating/finding new sounds that fit my music and myself,” said Lil Kell. “Performing in Athens so young to where I'm at now influenced me making music because I know what kind of music the crowds like to hear and turn up to, you know?”

Coming from an “underdog” perspective, Lil Kell believes the goal should be to be the best at what you do. Listening to different genres and consistently releasing music has really shaped and developed the artist’s sound over the years. Right now, he’s focused on creating a buzz and appetite from listeners.

“I'd say my biggest influence is being underrated because I wanna make the world realize what they slept on for so long. You gotta just risk it sometimes. I’d rather be recognized as an artist and a role model, not just a rapper,” said Lil Kell.

As a whole, #NotFaErrybody feels like a true product of Athens. Rapping from the age of seven and performing downtown at a young age, Lil Kell has been an active part of the hip hop scene for quite some time. The album was mostly recorded at GA Pro Studio and engineered by Athens prodigy Kxng Blanco, with notable features from Duddy Ken and Cassie Chantel. If range was the target for this album, Lil Kell delivered.
