MackMallyMannn Releases Album "TheYearOfMackBoy"

Those around the Athens hip hop scene know the name MackBoy well even if it’s only for his impressive producer credits for major artists like Migos, Kodak Black, and Rich the Kid. So, surely it was just a matter of time before we were going to see a new album drop from him as an artist. MackMallyMannn released his 17-track album TheYearOfMackBoy this past Friday on all major platforms.

Having worked on this album for the past six months, MackMallyMannn sorted through his catalog of over 1,000 songs from this year. The final cut is composed of what he deemed his best 17 tracks. With that many songs representing the artist’s best work, it’s hard for anyone to pick just one favorite (him included).

“I actually have three faves even though I love the whole project as a whole cause it’s some of my best work, but I’ll say ‘Born 2 Win’ first because that’s the intro and basically sets the tone of the album. After that I’ll say second favorite is ‘All Day’ which I collaborated with my first cousin MikeyDOOMZ who also produced the beat. Third favorite is ‘Woah’ featuring Kxng Blanco; that’s like one of the first songs that made the project from the time we recorded it,” says MackMallyMannn.

Still to come is a strong visual push for this project. MackMallyMannn decided to wait until the album has been out for a week before asking fans which five songs they want to see a music video for. Ready to go is another album titled Paid In Full that will drop around October, and MackMallyMannn will likewise be pushing his new artist Anya Jaye. Her album will be dropping in September, and he believes it “will shock the world.”

As for TheYearOfMackBoy, MackMallyMann hopes that listeners will take away that “they can be themselves no matter what they are pursuing in life and to always believe in yourself no matter who tells you what you can’t do. Always follow your dreams no matter what life throws at you. It’s a lot of hidden messages on this project, I just hope it can catch some ears and help someone. Even if it’s only one person, my goal was accomplished.”
