#MonthlyMonday Album Pick of the Month

This month’s local album pick is Tillman’s EP Half Past Midnight that was released May 28th on all platforms (go stream that on Spotify RIGHT NOW).

Produced by Ern, Tillman says that the two of them “really connected on another level” to finish the quickest project from start to finish that Tillman has ever released. The project was done in four different sessions, about one a week, but nevertheless, the product is on point as a cohesive and polished piece. Each track reveals a very raw and personal side of the artist.

“My concept was just to let people know how I’ve felt physically and mentally these past six months, which hasn’t been the happiest. Sometimes life gets the best of you. Through this music I hope to be a testimony to others dealing with similar situations in life,” says Tillman.

If you’re a fan of some sad summer jams, then this project will feel right at home. Despite what you’re going through though, Half Past Midnight certainly stands as a testament to the fact that you will get through it.

“I’ve spent many late nights in my head wide awake, and it always seems to happen after 12:30. I would look at the clock and it would be 12:35, 12:30, etc. Some nights it even felt like time wasn’t even moving,” says Tillman.

As the opening track, “Use To” is an attention-grabber. Catchy melodies, relatable content, and overall balanced composition make this a stand-out track.

“My favorite track on the project is ‘Use To’ because it means the most to me. It’s kinda funny because I wrote that song the very first time Ern and I linked up. He actually told me he had been saving the beat for me. Now, look what we created!” said Tillman.

Be on the lookout for more music and new videos on their way from Tillman in the coming months. His clothing line KrispyKidz will also be releasing new clothing designs for later this summer. Behind all of it is a very positive and inspirational message that despite the obstacles that everyone inevitably faces, you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. With all of that in mind, you can expect a lot more noise to come from this artist.
